A product of Angela Haldane – "Natural Ange"
Eczema Balm contains herbs which soothe dry, flaky skin and reduce itchiness.
100% natural cream base.
Chickweed – Stellaria media
Actions: demulcent, astringent, anti-itch
Chickweed is a common weed that is often seen growing by a lamp post! It can be juiced in a blender and lathered onto affected dry, itchy skin such as eczema, psoriasis, rashes, burns or boils.
Owing to chickweed's reputation for soothing dry itchy skin, this herbal remedy has been incorporated it into the herbal Eczema Balm.
Burdock – Arctium lappa
Burdock is used for chronic skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.
Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra
Actions: antiinflammatory, demulcent
Triterpenoid saponins present in licorice, exert a powerful influence on human steroid hormone function – leading to increased cortisol levels which then provide an antiinflammatory action, making it useful in the treatment of chronic eczema.
These herbs are mixed into a natural base cream which consists of water, natural fatty acids derived from coconut; vegetable derived fatty alcohols and fatty acids; and jojoba oil. This herbal health base is well tolerated by those with sensitive skin.
Whilst it is not as strong as steroid creams like hydrocortisone, it is more effective than the emollient creams and people find that they need to use less of the steroid cream in their management of eczema.
We recommend that you do the allergy test (more info regarding this under the 'about' section of this website) as part of the treatment programme for eczema. This helps to identify the allergens that set off IgE, an immunoglobulin involved in the allergic process. Allergens range from dust/mites to various food items to biological washing powders. To do this test requires a consultation with Natural Ange Ltd.
Thank you so much for rushing that for me, we really appreciate it! And thanks lots for the extra information too. We do use BEE washing powder at the moment, but may need to look into the allergy testing (at some stage when we've saved up!).
I really appreciate everything you've done, and your eczema balm is the best around!
Thanks a lot
Lucia (and Josh: the eczema sufferer).
I have recently been introduced to your eczema balm and cannot thank you enough for producing such a wonderful product. Its the only thing my skin does not react to. I am currently living in London and wondered if you have any suppliers over here or if there was any way you could possibly ship overseas? I would obviously cover all costs! Would love to hear from you.
